Cameron Bopp is a freelance studio engineer, live sound engineer, music producer, podcast editor, and musician. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Audio Design & Production from Columbia College Chicago, he has experience in all aspects of audio production, from post-production audio for visual media to arranging and recording original music. Past projects include soundtrack recordings for The Romantics (short film), live-to-two-track and 24-track recordings on tape, and ADR & foley projects for film. In addition, Cameron composes original music on his own time, as well as for the podcast Dungeons, Dice, & Everything Nice.
Cameron has mixed live bands in many local Chicago venues; past rooms include Lincoln Hall (Avid Venue SC48), Schubas Tavern (Soundcraft GB8 and Midas M32), and three separate venues on Columbia College Chicago’s campus (X32 and Yamaha M7CL). Cameron is also set to become the house engineer at Bub City Rosemont (Soundcraft Si Impact) in the summer of 2018.
With experience in many different recording environments, Cameron is comfortable anywhere there's a microphone and a recording device. His home studio is well-suited for in-the-box production, as well as recording vocals, guitar, bass, and any acoustic instruments on their own. With pairs of Yamaha HS8s, HS5s, and NS-10s all at his disposal, plus a myriad of plugins, your mixes will come out sounding professional and well-balanced on any playback system. Here, you will find samples of work I have completed for various clients. Some of the music is my own original composition, while some is simply other artists' music that I have had the pleasure to record and mix.
I have been the chief engineer and editor for this podcast since the start of Season 1 in late 2016. We currently record in Cards Against Humanity's brand-new recording studio. Tune in if you like live-play, all women Dungeons and Dragons (5e) podcasts! Below, you will find a playlist containing some of the original music I have composed for the show.
other artists' music
During my time as an undergrad, as well as outside of it, I had the opportunity to take the lead in recording many bands and solo acts to capture their wonderful music. Though most of this music is yet unreleased, I have worked with the likes of Laura Burke, Ally Evenson, and Nigel Mack and the Blues Attack.
